SO MUCH TO DIGEST RIGHT NOW..

SO MUCH TO DIGEST RIGHT NOW..

These days

Have you noticed that one moment, life can feel grand, exciting and filled with hope; and the next moment, someone says something, or does something that feels completely “wrong”.. and you want to scream, or run, or throw something?

I’ve spoken with folks that were adults in the late 60’s and I hear it was much the same.  So many opposite political views.  Even within like cultures; like Yogi’s or Wholistic groups.  It seems that “science” is a very controversial word currently.  Actually even a ‘trigger’ word.

HOW CAN AN ESSENTIAL OIL HELP?

The olfactory is in direct communication with the limbic system.  The moment you smell something, it hits your brain.  AND IF the ingredients are in full strain (not chemically taken apart) their message is accurate and clear.  If the oil has had it’s components rearranged “to make it safe”.. Then, science shows it will be a bit fuzzy in communication to the brain.  Well, at least someone’s interpretation of science…

In the diffuser for nausea:

  • 5 drops Tangerine or Mandarin
  • 5 drops Ginger (Co2 will be stronger in the diffuser than steam distilled)
  • 5 drops Roman Chamomile

Simply smelling our “fresh” Ginger steam distilled oil out of the bottle has an immediate effect supporting bloating and gas symptom reduction.  And inhaling Tangerine is sure to put a smile on even the crabbiest of moods.

DIGESTIVE SUPPORTING OILS..

Did you know that Tangerine is an American hybrid of Mandarin?  It’s a common fav with kiddo’s and pregnant women because of it’s uplifting and soothing properties.  Sluggish digestion or spasms in muscles?  This is your go to oil for sure!

Ginger is the most commonly used herb in Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Are you aware that Chinese medicine got it’s ‘roots’ from Ayurveda?  Yes… pun intended!! But it’s true..
And what has Ginger long been used for? DIGESTION! Among many other uses.

Here’s an excellent massage blend for chronic Arthritis/Rheumatism:

  • 2 drops Ginger (Co2 or steam distilled)
  • 2 drops Helichrysum
  • 3 drops German Chamomile
  • 2 drops Juniper
  • 5 drops Lavender (any type)
  • 2 drops Tangerine

Blend in 1 oz (30 mL) carrier (preferably Arnica, Calendula mix) Jojoba will do too!
Apply directly to areas needed

Both oils are commonly used in blends for reducing inflammation.  So.. not just in the mind but in the body too!  Stimulating circulation, detoxing the fluids and supporting the immune system are characteristics of these two beauties.

The strong powerful edges with the serene view reminds me of this Essential oil combination. If you don’t have access to the oils, envision the sensations you desire, sit in nature and allow intuition to speak through you! Be still and know.

How do YOU use these aromatic treasures?!  I’d love to hear back from you!

Come… Let’s Play

Come… Let’s Play

Come.. let’s P L A Y!

Going on an adventure is always.. well.. an

ADVENTURE!  It’s filled with surprises including interesting twists and turns, to our everyday expectations.  Too much adventure can lead to anxiety and too little can result in emotional ‘boredom’.  Covid-19 was a perfect example of an adventure that has left us ALL in a different place than before, somehow.. and in some way.

E S S E N T I A L    OILS

Are volatile components that can accelerate and decelerate movement in the mind/body.  What in the world does that mean?
There are aromatics that can enhance creativity and those that promote sleep and relaxation.  Let’s look at Patchouli and it’s opposite smelling relatives of Citrus oils, like Orange, Lime, Grapefruit and Lemon.

Wanna know more?!  Our citrus oils are GENERALLY cold pressed.  Meaning they were extracted from the peel of the fruit.  THIS makes them photo-toxic.  Keep them off the exposed skin if in the direct sun.  Our Lime oil is a steam distilled oil which makes it NON photo-toxic.  Combining these zesty aromas will tickle your senses.  Always a smile takes over the face.  They are so emotionally uplifting, that the brain chemical neurons actually become stimulated and our creativity increases as our emotional doubt begins to dissolve, naturally.  Do some creative writing after deeply inhaling a bouquet of citrus scents and see how your “pen” just flows…

P A T C H O U L I   essential oil is an entirely different personality!  It’s strong and intense and right in your …umm … nose!
Yes, most people have a love/hate relationship due to quality for sure (please try ours if you think you don’t like it) and what you are scenting it with.  Patchouli ALONE, dabbing a drop in the crease of your knees and elbows will keep bugs at bay, especially as you sweat and become a human diffuser!  If you like it?  Play with it as a perfume with other deep oils like Jasmine, Rose or Sandalwood.  Neroli will lighten it up and Mandarin is always so soft.  Use a combination like, 1:5,  one being Patchouli.  Try it in your diffuser first and see how you enjoy the ratio.  It will be different on the skin.  ALWAYS use a carrier oil like unscented Jojoba for extending the time it will stay on skin.  Natural oils only have a ‘perfume’ strength for the first 3-4 hours.

GO ON AN ADVENTURE!!

Do you love Patchouli?  Try brightening the scent in a diffuser or perfume with a few of these recipes:

Deeply grounded
  • 3 drops Patchouli
  • 3 drops Lavender
  • 2 drops Frankincense (serrata)

Wisely Creative
  • 4 drops Patchouli
  • 4 drops Tangerine
  • 3 drops Neroli
  • 2 drops Ginger (Co2)

*Recommended variety or distillation method of Essential oil is what I would use in a best case scenario for each recipe.  Feel free to substitute as you have or as desired.

A Note…

A Note from Somah~
The heat of summer! (In the N. Hemisphere) A P R I C O T seed oil.. such a luscious treat on the skin ESPECIALLY (for me) in the summertime!!
Why?
What is the difference between “Jojoba, Apricot, Almond, Coconut & Olive oil”??  All “Carrier oils”.. aka “Vegetable oils” or Virgin Plant oils.. These are the gorgeous carriers of our highly prized Essential oils, that are applied to the skin.
The main difference between the carriers are viscosities and “temp” of components.. Does that sound complicated?  It sorta is and sorta isn’t.  There’s a bit of common sense to it but you do have to stop and give it a second thought before just grabbing any ole oil that seems oily!  Sesame oil is heating.. Coconut oil is cooling..  We don’t carry either of those at Savitur but they are used in custom blends and formulas for those that require it.  Almond oil is a bit more warming than neutral but not “heating” and it is quite fragrant if it’s a pure high quality.  Olive is neutral and so is Jojoba.  Click on their links and discover their brilliance.
APRICOT.. our feature!  So sweet and thick.  Not an ideal massage oil, as it doesn’t have the ’slick’ movement but oooooh is it decadent to use in a massage if going slow and deep.  I love to add Frankincense, carterii and Neroli to my body oil.  I usually blend it with Jojoba. In the summer, I love to add just the Frankincense to only Apricot oil and it’s just the right balance of earth and sweetness for me.
And sometimes??  I don’t add any Essential oils.. just pure rich Apricot oil; any day the temperature is over  72*!
If you desire a “pre-made” body blend that has multiple uses try this together:
Jaswood– roll onto palm heavily, add 1 sliver dollar size amount of Apricot oil; rub palms together and smear across legs and arms after shower. You’ll smell divine and your sense’s will fill you with confidence!
LIMITLESS OPTIONS with Apricot oil!  It’s safe for babies and elderly.  Be sure to try some while it’s on sale in July.  Wanna buy in BULK?  Message us for a special savings through July only.
Enjoy the heat and stay cool!
Peace + love,
Somah (& the Savitur team)
